1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Jots (“the Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use Jots. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of the journal entries and content you create in Jots.

By using the Service, you grant Jots a limited, non-exclusive license to process your content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including providing automated insights and feedback.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to access other users’ data, uploading unlawful, abusive, or malicious content, or interfering with the security or integrity of the Service.

6. Beta Service Disclaimer

Jots is currently provided as a beta service. The Service is offered “as is” and “as available,” and may contain bugs, errors, or interruptions. Features may change or be discontinued at any time.

7. Automated Processing

Jots uses automated systems, including AI-based processing, to generate feedback and insights. These outputs are informational only and do not constitute professional, legal, or medical advice.

8. Data Export and Deletion

You may export your data in a machine-readable format (JSON) and delete your account at any time through the Service.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if these Terms are violated or if continued operation becomes impractical. You may stop using the Service at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jots shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data or productivity.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
